Jungle Jack swings to the lead of the Sequoyah Stakes

FORT WORTH, Texas—Jockey Mario Chavez guided Jungle Jack around the turn, drawing clear for a commanding lead by approximately four lengths in the 870 yard Sequoyah Stakes at Will Rogers Down on November 8, 2010. His finishing time was 44.57 seconds and a 111 speed index. The horse picks up $8,838 in earnings for his first stakes win, making his lifetime earnings $36,938.

Jungle Jack is a four-year-old gray solid Paint-bred gelding by Jungle Jet and out of Rainbows Dash AQHA, by Dodadash AQHA. He is owned and bred by Matt Watkins of Bristow, Okla., trained by Pete Little.

Finishing second was Heather Royal, a four-year-old bay solid Paint-bred gelding by Royal Quick Flash and out of Heather Lane, by Kid Kas (TB). He finished the race in a time of 45.15 seconds, earning a 104 speed index. Heather Royal is owned by Gabriella Brogna of Sapulpa, Okla., bred by W.S. Farish of Versailles, Kent.. He is trained by Kevin Willis and was ridden by Matthew Casebolt. He picks up $2,946, making his lifetime earnings $19,443.

Third across the wire was D D Marble, a seven-year-old Appaloosa stallion by My Designated Driver AQHA and out of All The Marbles, by Joyful Hope (TB). Bred by G and G Partnership in Kansas, trained by Hubert Blankenship and ridden by Adam Roughley, he finished with a time of 45.21 seconds, earning $1,620.

Other horses completing the race, along with times, include Bettor Bob (45.36 seconds), A Day Before ApHC (45.61 seconds), Hidden Miracle (45.78 seconds), Roman Guard (45.92 seconds) and Zevis Kid ApHC (46.79 seconds).
